A Kickstarter funded start-up aims to be the first to bring real-life working hoverboards to the mass market – using similar technology to Maglev trains.
The principle behind the board is to use highly focused electromagnetic fields to create “hover engines”, which can be applied to any industry that requires heavy mass to be moved easily – not least of all human transportation.
The technology is also being offered as an open-source platform for the marker community, and could lead to amazing innovations in the future.
But for now we can just dream of getting our hands on one of these ten $10,000 prototype hoverboards that will work on any conducting metal surface – if you local to an aluminium-clad skatepark you are in luck!
